Skin Patrol operates mobile clinics for these services in metropolitan and regional locations across Australia. Our modus operandi is to detect skin cancer (particularly melanoma) and identify the risk of other health conditions (such as heart disease) before they get in the way of people living their best lives.
Our business goals include:
- Strengthening our position as the market leader in the corporate sector
- Nurturing our doctor network through peer support, education and the opportunity to undertake tertiary surgical management travelling Australia
- Attracting and retaining the best skin cancer physicians in Australia and their support crew
- Continuing to expand our network of services in regional communities
- Collaborating with charity organisations, pathology companies and training institutions to assist with clinical excellence service delivery.

Dr Alan Jones
MBBS FRACGP
Dr Jones started in General Practice in his early twenties. In 1997, he established the Chermside Medical Centre, forming one of the largest and most successful training General Practices in Brisbane. In 2012, he sold the practice and moved into skin cancer medicine full-time, basing himself initially at Molescan Chermside.
Dr Jones was the Principal GP Registrar trainer at Chermside Medical Centre and has continually advanced his surgical skills. For over 12 years, he worked as a Skin Cancer Physician for Skin Patrol, covering a large proportion of the company’s Queensland work and also travelling interstate.
Then, in 2017, Dr Jones founded The Flying Skin Cancer Doctor, taking skin cancer screening to regional and rural communities and providing immediate treatment for skin cancers detected.
As founder of the Australian Medical Football Team (Docceroos), until recently, Dr Jones regularly played soccer for club and country. He has also completed his pilot’s training at the busy Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles in the USA and is close to earning his Australian credentials.
Skin Patrol’s history
In 2004, Practice Manager Marion Patrick, her daughter, Dr Tanya Holt and her son Sam Holt (Marketing, Business Development) founded Skin Patrol. First to market, Skin Patrol established itself as the market leader providing workplace skin cancer clinics to Australia’s top tier corporate and government firms.
In 2021, The Flying Skin Cancer Doctor acquired Skin Patrol. The Flying Skin Cancer Doctor delivers skin cancer screening and immediate treatment for skin cancers in over 50 regional and rural communities across Queensland and New South Wales.
It made perfect sense for the two companies to join forces in the early detection of skin cancer, continuing Skin Patrol’s legacy
