Skin Patrol is the only organisation in the world to offer remote Dermatologist diagnosis for all patients with suspicious lesions.
Unlike other clinics who might offer dermatology trained GPs (diploma or certificate qualifications) Skin Patrol's clinical service provides the expertise of doctor who has completed an additional 6 years specialty training to become a Dermatolgist (skin specialist).
A teledermatology approach enables Skin Patrol to bring specialist diagnosis to individuals and communities who otherwise may not have access to such skills and services and it improves patient outcomes by reducing unnecessary excisions.
Skin Patrol programs are based on a unique clinical model. A highly skilled Medical Practitioner (Doctor) with a special interest in skin performs the onsite consultation. Any moles or lesions considered suspicious are digitally mapped and imaged and diagnosed remotely by our Dermatologist.
Skin Patrol's reporting Dermatologist is Dr Martin Haskett, is a Director for the Royal Australasian College of Dermatologists (RACD), Director of Training Dermatology Trainees for the College of Dermatologists (Victorian Faculty) and visiting Specialist for the Victorian Melanoma Service.
Other benefits, unique to Skin Patrol include:
a) Medical Practitioners with a special interest in skin perform all onsite skin examinations
b) Digital imaging of all suspicious and difficult to monitor lesions
c) Body mapping and archiving of all suspicious lesions
d) No excisions or treatment onsite. All required treatment is referred to the patient's chosen Medical Practitioner, alternatively Skin Patrol can guide the patient to a suitable specialist or doctor if required
e) Digital print outs of imaged lesions are sent to individual and their doctor for future comparison for change
f) Dedicated Practice management team to follow-up patients ensuring prompt treatment is sought and pathology is reviewed
